Naum Hadzhimladenov (1894 – 1985) – “Shepherd” , 1929

The painting “Shepherd” by Naum Hadzhimladenov is the highlight of the month of June in Djurkovi Gallery.

He draws in a natural manner, without any force on himself or on the images. He looks at human peripeties from afar, but not passively. Naum Hadzhimladenov is a self-grown wise man, a local sage. He says that this is life, this is the human fate from time immemorial. He is doing it without any pose, without any ambition of preaching.
